Yet another one of Illustrator bug-like behaviours... Like, yeah, obviously if a shape is not closed, there is no way for Illustrator to tell the inside and outside of that shape apart, but is it SO HARD TO EXPLAIN THIS TO USER in a popup..? Or just disable those unusable options for such objects? Is it THAT hard to do for such a big company? Like, just for comparison. When I work in Affinity Designer, and I try to use a raster brush on a vector layer (action that I shouldn't be able to do due to logical reasons), it doesn't give me an error, and it doesn't just ignore my input, leaving me clueless of what I'm doing wrong. NO, the app automagically creates a Raster layer for me, and a little popup from built-in Assistant notifies me of that. It is AWESOME! Because the app literally helps me along the way, if I forget to do something, in a non-intrusive way, with clear explanation of what it did and what for. It's such a minor thing, but it tells so much about the creators of Affinity Suite. They CARE about their users' comfort, and they really THINK about optimising the workflow, making the work easier. And it is NOT subscription-based! it costs like 50$ or so. While greedy Adobe m***s can't make even such basic stuff work smooth, though they drain money from your pockets every. single. month! I wish one day Affinity becomes the "industry standard", and leaves Adobe in the dust. Because they really deserve it!
